Nothing goes to us. We don't run a server that receives any of it.

Your schemas and settings

Schemas are .soca files, saved wherever you choose. Settings and the list of recent schemas live in ~/.socadb, and chat history stays on your computer too.

The AI chat

The chat runs Claude or Codex on your computer, signed in with your own subscription or API key. Your messages and the schema they need go from your computer to the provider you picked, Anthropic or OpenAI, under that provider's terms. They don't pass through us.

API keys are stored in your operating system's keychain, never in a SocaDB file.

Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Codex

SocaDB can add itself to these apps as an MCP server, so they can read and edit the schema you have open. Each one can be switched off in Settings › Integrations. The connection stays on your computer.

Logs

Since version 0.1.4, SocaDB keeps a local log to diagnose problems (Help › Show Logs). It never contains schema contents, chat text or API keys, and it stays on your computer unless you choose to send it to us.

Updates

SocaDB checks GitHub for new versions and downloads them from there.
